How many is too many?

The trouble is, as I see it, is the difference is between a collector and a horder. I would love to have kept all the cars that touched my heart or represented a significant period but had I done that then their replacements wouldn't have appeared. Plus there are some I still have an itch for. GS for one. I see a black one around Dorset often and every time I think...must get one of those. I also think a well sorted Brera V6 in black with tan hide would tick a box. Never fancied a lambo apart from the Espada and I'm bl00dy glad I didn't scratch that itch.
4 or 5 is about it then they can all be used regularly.

Currently have three cars between me and Mrs MLC, and I'm restoring a ZXR750. The problem I have is living in a flat with one garage but luckily none of the neighbours mind us having one car parked where guests should park. I also park one car at work and rotate the Seat/Maserati for weekdays/ends as necessary.

Sorry for the delay with posting a picture - but here's my latest fleet addition. It's a mk1 400i from 1979, the first Ferrari to be offered with an auto box. Obviously the restoration and running costs will be ridiculous, but still, it's a small price to pay for so much style.

These and the 456 are the last "affordable" 4 seat V12 Ferraris, but with prices on the up they won't be affordable for too much longer.

And a quick picture of the interior. The mk 1 has the wooden dash with toggle switches - way more stylish (IMO) than the later black dash with the black plastic switches from the 308/328.

Now that is my Ferrari, I have always loved the stylish look and I am a sucker for 4 seat 2 doors. There used to be bloke near us had a 365 GT4 with 6 rear lights and 5 spoke alloys it looked so cool compared to all the cars on our street. It turned out when his mother died, he sold her big house bought a small end terrace with a garage at the end of our street and spent the rest on the Ferrari, the adults thought he was mad but us teenagers thought differently.

That's the one. I picked it up last Thursday. Shocking drive back from London in bucketing rain the whole way - on tyres that are 25 years old. Not quite the fun day/drive it should have been. It's booked to go to Emblem next week, and from there I can plan the restoration works.
