Although this is an older post, I wanted to help clarify in the event someone was trying to figure out what they have. Although I don't understand the process by which cars in EU are registered as new in example 2009 model year sold and registered in 2012 becomes a "2012 Maserati ", in USA that's not the norm.
In any event, there are 3 infotainment versions for the quattroporte m139. The first is Blaupunkt and it's the lower picture in post 11. Blaupunkt was installed in 2003-2008 production. Identifiable by the 2 diamond shaped knob panels below the unit. The second was Bose and its pictured in post 16 identifiable by the two round knobs on the screen sides and the letters BOSE on cd slot. Bose units were installed on production years 2009-2010. The 3rd is Magnetti Marelli and it's the top picture in post 11. It has the clean look. It was installed 2011-2012

That may be true in the USA, but many (probably most) 'facelift' QPVs shipped to the UK between 2009 and 2012 had the 'Magnetti Marelli' (possibly with upgraded Bose speakers, but without the dials at the sides of the screen).

When I was looking for my second QPV in 2021, I kept track of the cars for sale on Autotrader for about six months. Out of the 18 2009-2012 cars that I checked out in detail, only 5 had the 'full Bose' setup. Of those 5, 4 were 2009 and one was 2011.

Okay, just to clarify. All of these cars have bose amplifiers and speakers albeit different part numbers. All to the best of my knowledge have the bose amplifier in the trunk and the ones that have Bose radios have a separate radio tuner in the trunk. As for the Radio(NIT), all Bose radios have the two round knobs, all Magnetti Marelli look like the pic in post 11 top.
