It's weird, I loved Mercs when I was a kid in 70s, but just don't get them now, even the big growlly engines can't make up for the feminine look they all have, I just don't get it

we had a Merc 320 soft top and it was lovely until the motherboard gave up couldn't believe how expensive it was to replace. funny test drove a SL 55 and its the only car I have driven which might have lost my licence just touch the pedal and bang it was gone.

I was looking at buying an SL55 but the Mrs said "when you open the garage door on a Sunday morning all you will see is just another Merc" so I went and bought the spyder. Female logic at its very best and I was actually listening. What are the odds of that coincidence happening again?!

I always thought that the SLK looked like someone missed a foot off the back. Maybe that's because I had an SL500 when the new one came out just over a decade ago. That car handled really well given it's weight - better than a GranTurismo in my opinion - but the engine was underpowered. Should have had an SL55 but that was a lot more ££.

I do not see the point in an E-Class Coupe and an S-Class Coupe and an SL.

Agree with you there..Adrians C63 AMG Coupe changed my view of fast Mercs...Amazing car.....Would love a C63 AMG Black...

I looked at another Spyder just before I bought the one I have, a few more miles but less money. The guy selling it also had a CL55 Kompressor with 634 BHP, my mate took a fancy to it so the dealer let us take it out, fecking **** it was quick and had more toys than Hamleys.

CL name is now redundant as the new model will be called the S Class Coupe.
CLA is a saloon version of the A Class.
CLS is the car that's not an S Class but bigger than an E with four doors and coupe styling.
CLS Shooting Brake is an estate of the above but less practical than a E class estate.

Not sure why I know that...
