Inside Rain - from windscreen pillar

It was very rainy yesterday, and when I got into the car, suddenly quite a LOT of water poured out of the roof lining in the join between the windscreen pillar and the roof, right near where @conaero installed the microphone for Android Auto (probably unrelated). Trim came off VERY easily, though (probably related). I suppose it is most likely water gathering in the sunroof well and not draining properly??? Or maybe a leaky windscreen???

I'm a bit worried that there might be a huge 'balloon' of water in the roof lining now...

I reckon that is the drain pipe in the pic. I’d check it’s still connected first.

Oh, this black tube?

Good idea.

I just wish it would stop raining long enough for me to look at it, and then start again to test it!

Humm.

Well, it all seems to be connected. And also totally dry. The car has been parked in the heavy rain all day, yet is totally dry inside, whereas yesterday I parked at the supermarket for 1/2 an hour and got a flood of water on my arm. What gives??

Don’t have experience of the problem personally but did you check the sunroof drains?

Given the water build up you describe and that it’s collected so high up, it does not sound like a leaking windscreen.

Try putting zoom water in the sunroof cavity and see if it drains out, they could be blocked.

If one of the drains is blocked it could depend on whether it was parked on the flat. The water may well have gone to another drain. I assume it has 2 fro t and 2 back drains..... not sure on that one. Need to run a bike brake cable down it to clear any rubbish that has washed down it.
