Admiral Multicar
Alfa 147 2.0TS
02 4200

Lots of NCD for both drivers. Both drivers on both cars. Anything but for hire use. No mileage limitations.

Last year: £725.28 OK it stung a bit, but hey.

Email through last night.
Went to check this morning.
This year proposed:
£521

WTF!

always nice to see a drop but worth checking out individually as well - I looked at the 3200, afla gt and the beetle convertible with admiral multi car and it came in around £70 more than doing individually...........

No one insurer will suit all......hence the variabilities and variations taken into account.......in some ways its not even an educated guess, more like a wild stab in the dark.........with a blunt instrument!!!!

Also found exactly that on the renewals last year. The Multicar insurance super deals are only available for new customers; existing customers don't get the same treatment, nor would they price match. Result was business for 5 cars went elsewhere.

Just had my Admiral multicar renewal yesterday and it's gone up from £1k to 1.6k !! This has happened before, I will most likely run a new quote on their site, get the new customer price and then call them. They have been known to cancel the policy and start a new one in order for the new customer price to apply. If that doesn't work, I will try separate policies although I do like the multicar.

I have noticed insurance has dropped quite a bit, the SZ is under £200 now and the Spyder just over £300

John, thats what I did. Got it down to circa £230 from memory.

Funnily enough I lied and did not put my claim in from 4 years ago. Then I put it in the quote and it went down by £15, fancy that!

I love the way the notification letter they send is folded. On the first side you see "your insurance is due renewal - you need do nothing" or some such. Then you unfold it to find out it's gone up £1k :) Latest one was it was cheaper to do all our cars via individual policies than it was via multi car, go figure. Half the time I think their underwriting system is just a cheap random number generator.

So a saving of £308 not to shabby me thinks .

Just got a quote from Admiral for 680 pounds to insure my GTS. However been reading some bad press about them when things go wrong. Is it true that I have to send my car to one of their bodyshops in the event of an accident. I cant use a Maserati authorised dealer?

The are about 200 pounds cheaper than my existing insurer.

I'm with admiral and they let me pick the garage, so I sent if to Autoshield in Manchester. Apparently they bargained hard with Marios, but there was never an issue with anything. If I sent it to one of their garages, I would have got a hire car too, but chose competence over convenience.

Thats my concern. Will they allow an official Maserati garage with their higher labour rates? Suppose they don't agree to the rates or try to negotiate to an unacceptable level for the garage?

Read somewhere they forced a guy with a Jag XKR to go to a Vauxhall garage!

I got a quote from HR Owen as well and provided both. They told me to choose where I sent it. The HR Owen quote was crazy high but they would have let me use them.

My mates Aston Vantage that I was driving in February and got up the chuffed was sent to a local body shop otherwise he got no hire car and they did a great job plus extras done for pennies like paint his brake disc hubs that were rusty.
Worked for him.

Sounds good value. Need to check mine - similar age, so hopefully similar value - what company are you using?
