I need torenew, I searched the site to no avail... what's anyone's recommendations? I am with Direct Line, but want to see if I am getting the best deal. I didn't try very hard last year to look around, so this year I will. Let me know what you think please people... not a daily driver, probably about 7k miles a year though!

Ta muchly... looks like my Direct line quote for renewal isn't that bad considering I only have one year NCD! £440!

My 4200 is on a 7K limited mileage policy with Privilege Insurance and currently pay £250 (dropping to £175 when I renew as I have just passed my Institute of Advanced Motorists test :) )

Just renewed mine for £280 the year with Adrian Flux. It's 6k miles per year, includes full EU cover (note not crappy 3rd party) and also protected NCB. Give them a call mate.

OK... found Liverpool Victoria and Privilege won't insure less than 1 year NCD... this is the second car and I've only had it a year... will try AF then...

Stating the obvious maybe but have you tried GoCompare, Confused.com and the one I generally find the best, moneysupermarket.com?

Ian you don't need any NCB on a classic car policy so speak to either footman james or locktons to see if they can help you.

Contact Address:

My policy last year was £350'with AA. Putting the Mrs on took it down to £300.
I had a no fault claim this year on my other car, after 20 yrs accident free motoring and no convictions (car went in to my back end at roundabout...minimal damage) and have fessed up to having put autoshield sports back boxes on........best quote is now £500.

Admiral multi car for me, 2 of us driving any of our three cars with PNCB for £750. It worked out cheaper than insuring the 3 cars individually.

Staggeringly, neither of us have any points and we haven't claimed for a number of years but I think it's a pretty good deal

with little NCB try to get it on a classic policy. I use RH insurance on the old 911, which includes free European breakdown cover and track day too. About £200 for 6000 miles.
Daily car is with A-plan.

I've just renewed with one answer insurance.
It's a limited mileage policy and doesn't require any NCB, however they can also add the NCB to the policy purely to keep it active.
It also includes 5 days track day insurance cover and is very modified friendly, no problem with larini exhaust, FD wheels and carbon fibre rear lip spoiler.

+1 for Admiral Multi-car

3200GT with non-standard exhaust declared + Alfa 147 with NCB protection on both cars and 6 years no claims costs me around £700 a year.

Split is about £450 for the Maser and £250 for the Alfa...

Interesting I have 9 y NCB Alfa GT is £200 and GS is £350, much cheaper than Admiral.

I use Confussed.com. Rachel's F500 is £190

The trick is to get a comparison quote off Confussed and beat your renewal down.

I did a comparison, but Admiral worked out the cheapest. The lowest price from a decent company I could get for the Alfa with legal protection was £330 via money super market. There were some slightly cheaper quotes for around the £290 mark, but they are from companies I have never heard of and get pretty bad reviews online (plus charge high fees for policy changes, etc)...

Also I haven't built up any no claims for a second car, but admiral applied my NCB to both cars which knocked it down lower than all the comparison quotes. I am 31, so maybe age comes into it a bit too.

Admiral worked out cheaper for me, but not for my girlfriend's z3. Just depends on what variables the insurance company favours I guess. Generally speaking when I do price comparisons Admiral come up as one of the cheapest and they do discount pretty well too if you tell them you have found a cheaper quote online...

Admiral multi-car worked out more expensive for me this year. A-Plan can do the Verso and the GTS for just over a thousand for the two, 10 years NCB protected on each. Not cheap but A-plan quoted the same only for the Maser a year ago. Neither rhyme nor reason to it.

Both Admiral and A-Plan mandate that I need a tracker so that adds another £150 or so.
