Intermittent reverse lights

When having the tracking done recently I noticed the reverse lights didn't engage when being reversed off the ramp. With the MOT on the horizon is this a common issue and how can I resolve it? Car hasn't been used a huge deal recently so I did wonder if it's a voltage issue, although the battery is quite new. Bulbs are ok.

Pull the rubber conduit between the boot lid and body, I suspect you will find broken wires. It’s very common.

Would make sense, although it was leaking from there a couple of months ago. Possible I can get away with a bit of contact cleaner?
