You might be okay with the Royal Oak, but surely the C63 is only going down in value? (Though I know next to nothing about AMG cars.)Seriously considering selling my GTS soon to fund an AP Royal Oak watch and a C63 shooting brake. Purely for appreciation purposes.
Anybody done similar?
Nah. Watches are no fun at all. A GTS, on the other hand, is a fabulous thing which spreads joy everywhere it goes.Seriously considering selling my GTS soon to fund an AP Royal Oak watch and a C63 shooting brake. Purely for appreciation purposes.

A watch after a bad day does not make you smile
You could probably time it...Well it might, but probably not for so long

Mine's long gone. Got a Casio AW-500 at the PX and wore it til I separated...Looks like it

What sort of growth would you expect from the car and watch?Seriously considering selling my GTS soon to fund an AP Royal Oak watch and a C63 shooting brake. Purely for appreciation purposes.

The watch would yield 5% min over a 3-5 year period. Not great at today’s interest rates but when things settle, which they will, maturity of the asset will continue to rise. What sort of growth would you expect from the car and watch?
Would hope it’s a meaningful ROI unless you’re done enjoying the GTS (which happens).
5% over 3 years is pretty low ROI in my opinion. Early C63’s will be sought after but they’re plentiful so can’t appreciate a great deal. Also an incredibly dull and depressing place to be after a few years in a GT.The watch would yield 5% min over a 3-5 year period. The C63 notion is simply giving me ‘something else’ to enjoy while grasping at the hope of it becoming a future classic. Well kept low mile examples have also appreciated.
