I have the ipad 3 and the little one takes it and plays with it.

As i use it a lot and i cant afford it breaking i was thinking of getting her a cheap ipad 1, they are sturdy and about £90 from ebay, but i was wondering if anyone on here had one they wanted to sell

Odd you should mention that, Dem. I have a first gen with genuine Apple cover in good order. Interested?

An ipad 1 should be perfect for your little one, Dem. But, don't forget that it won't be able to run some of the latest apps.

Dem,

I'm sure you are a responsible parent but please be careful with YouTube and kids - it's amazing the inappropriate material they can find within two clicks. If your little one is anything like mine anything stronger than Cbeebies gives her nightmares.

You are right.
My two kids (4 and 8) love watching YouTube, mostly Star Wars Lego (the lad) and Littlest Pet Shop (the girl).
They can be watching what appears the harmless clips then you hear the 'f' word...
Very tricky to control.

Dem,

It's not a question of typing. YouTube offers similar videos in thumbnails in the sidebar and in the main window once Peppa Pig has finished. Most of these will be innocent other episodes of Peppa Pig but some will be some questionable material which someone might have labelled 'peppa pig' or 'Debbie does peppa pig' or whatever which could well be unsuitable for a two-year-old.

When ours was two I put all the Peppa Pig videos together in the videos library and she'd watch them (and Charlie and Lola) until the cows would come home.

Yes Michael we have caught ours clicking through those thumbnails and some of it is pretty scary for the kids or unsuitable. I have to watch over ours now....

Our lad has an iPad, but can only watch youtube on one of ours. That way he's always supervised with youtube, but he is free to play videos and games we download for him.

I had no idea, thank you
