HI All
Had a wonderful first 3 months with the QPV but alas, I feel an expensive fix coming on - any advice greatly appreciated.
1) Rumbling/road noise
This has started in the last week. At any speed above 40 miles an hour and especially at 80, there is nasty road noise which sounds like a "whoa whoa whoa" coming from the rear. At first I thought it may be a wheel bearing? No difference whether under load or not. Does it even if you knock the car into neutral.
I took it to my local garage today (they are not MS specialist but really know their cars.) They checked all suspension, links, bushes, checked prop bushes and even checked the bearings - couldnt find anything. They did suggest that the tyres could be causing the issue? They are fairly worn and quite old (2017).
I had increased the pressures - they were reading around 25 PSI and I increased to 32 (I know the factory suggests 29). I have since put the pressures back down to 25 and things have improved a little bit but I am not at all happy.
Seems quite intrusive. If you put your hand on the rear seat you can feel some form of vibration coming through the rear.
The car is running Pirelli PZeros
2) Starting difficulties
On two occasions this week this happened when starting from cold. Usually the car fires and starts immediately. But yesterday and today on two occasions it has taken 2-3 seconds to start? No issue from warm but only on cold start. No engine management warning lights. Once it starts, runs perfectly.
Any help or advice would be great - Im quite handy with a spanner so am happy to roll my sleeves up if pointed in the right direction.
Cheers
Simon
