Time for a few upgrades.
As you know, I've had a few intermittent knock sensor issues over the last few weeks, so as I'm taking it all apart and draining the coolant, it's a good time to build in some reliability. I have a small heap of bits to fit now, so the plan is to start this weekend. My heap comprises of knock sensors, a full set of Roose motorsport silicon coolant hoses, new stainless clips to suit, silicon vacuum hoses, new bolts for the plenum along with all the seals etc, a tub of dielectric grease for all the contacts/plugs/sockets, injector plug rubbers (already fitted) and the correct Paraflu antifreeze. It's also getting a service whilst I'm in there fiddling about.
Hopefully, that little lot will go some way towards preventing a breakdown at some point. I'm in two minds whether to replace the starter or not as I haven't had any issues at all with the one fitted and it spins over like a good 'un. The other thing I'm in two minds about is getting the plenum and coil covers powder coated, or maybe ceramic coated to tidy them up a bit. Question is, what colour? I'm inclined to get as close to the original as possible.
