Thanks all, will get bodywork sorted ASAP, and get my hands under the passenger footwell to check its dry. And then drive it all summer! No point worrying about resale value now.

You can do it for about £50 if you do it yourself .

Yeah and all that time with bits in a bucket and ultimate defeat. Then trailer it to a specialist and look surprised if he says he doesn't want to touch the mess......
