Just wanted to say thanks for all the informative threads that everybody posts on this site, i've been reading the forum for quite a while and it gave me a lot of insight into what to look for when buying a car, what i should and shouldn't be scared of and most importantly/excitingly for me now i'm an owner of a GS how i can look after it properly without it having to cost me the earth

only picked the car up yesterday (an 06 GS) so have only driven it the 170ish miles home but the car is amazing and everything i hoped it would be over the years of me lusting after one. i didn't intend to buy one just yet as i go on holiday for 3 weeks tomorrow but didn't want to risk losing out on the right car for the sake of 3 weeks and bit of shuffelling of finances

anyway no doubt i'll be back soon with a bunch of stupid questions, until then i'll continue reading the forum and owners manual etc

Cheers

Cheers guys, to post pics do i need to put them on a photo upload site and use the link or can i upload them direct?

Mondie > It's the same exterior colour combination as yours, which is my favourite for the GS, though to be fair i think they're a stunning car in pretty much every colour

The other pics are terrible, i'll take some decent ones when i'm back and have given it a full detail. there's a few marks on the tech cloth inserts so need to find the best upholstry cleaner for such a strange material

Lovely GS !
The marks are probably water marks.
Best way i have found to remove them is to apply a liberal amount of foam upholstry cleaner to the whole seat cushion until it is damp and use a microfibre cloth to rub clean. Then let the whole area dry. This way the damp seat cushion area will dry out evenly without leaving unsightly water marks.

cheers James, sounds like the same solution i've used previously on cars with a light-ish cloth interior, i'll give it a go when i'm back. i'm stranegly looking forward to spending a whole day cleaning the car, will be an excuse to finally use the vast selection of over priced products (zymol etc) i've aquired over the years

Congrats - a nero GS is a fine choice! :)

Based on the pic, is it a Meriden car?

Thanks again everyone

Woody > It wasn't bought from Meridien but the previous owner had used them for all work on the car and it was there being checked over ready for the sale. I'm glad i didn't get landed with the £5.5k bill it gave the owner for bringing everything up to scratch
