Hi

I am ready to take the dive and own my first Maserati

I am getting something I will use most days and do about 10K a year in so reliability is an important factor. IMO the GS looks better than the GT, true Italian styling but I am concerned about the reliability especially having heard about numerous clutch problems. I am looking at spending up to about 40-45K on a car so would be looking at a newer GS or an older GT. I want to protect myself where possible as I don't want a car which lives in the garage and gets sold out of frustration like my old old V8V :(

Also I see on the Classifieds there are a few ads from a company out in Sevenoaks who have a few GS and GT for sale, anyone used them

Thanks and look forward to joining you... PS am based in Guildford, Surrey so will be looking out for any meets for anyone down there :)

Welcome.

A lovely position to be in.

They are very different propositions and each has is good and not so good points. I have had three Coupe s the latest being a GS; but looking to move up to a GT in a while.

The cluch concerns are a little out of date now and many issues were due to poor set up/repair etc.

Navola in London has some great low mile stock and ensures they have a recent clutch with low wear. Also Richard Grace has access to some lovely cars.

Enjoy the hunt and take time to read the forum...but remember many issues are posted for help and few people update that the cars have run for years without issue.

Morning ID and welcome,

Plenty of excellent help available on here but you won't go wrong contacting Dicky Grace who is one of the forum sponsors and has the highest reputation for supplying top quality checked cars.

Good luck with your search...

All of above and I think the Sevenoaks garage is ADG who although at the other end of the country from me have a good reputation as well.
If you go down the auto route on a GT you have one potential bill out of the equation.
Good luck.

Thanks all for the reply I will make some enquiry and see what cars the garages have. Its positive that it seems both cars in general will be reliable (compared to most similar brands) I think the GS is a beautiful looking car but the auto gearbox on the GT and more "modern feel" may win. The search goes on!

ADG is in Sevenoaks and very well respected along with Nuvola and above Richard Grace cars.

Welcome. Your budget will allow you to buy an excellent GS and still leave you a war chest in case something does go wrong.

Thanks all, I am pleased to say a call has been put into Richard Blake and I will keep you posted with how I get on :) ... I do notice there seems to be a lot of love on the Forums for the GS as an option
