I've just been for a 50 mile drive to check the new windscreen wipers I fitted earlier are working well. They are.

What's the furthest you've driven for a spurious reason?

Luxembourg by Triumph Spitfire. My mate said they did a good McRib there. He ws partly right.

MAF, with windscreen wipers you need to make sure they are ok at least three or four times. Once is never enough. See you back here later.

Once drove to Berlin shortly after reunification just to see. Then decided to carry on to Poland for the same reason; got as far as Frankfurt under Oder and the roads signage and roadworks were in such appalling condition I actually couldn't find the border. Drove home instead. That was in the Lancia Y10.

1500 miles across a desert in a chevy suburban, because we were bored. Life was somewhat more interesting after that.

From Athens to Sweden for the Iternational Rally. Spent two weeks up there, visited some islands by the Baltic as well.
On the road back we were arrested for driving a bit faster..

Sadly still not driven my GS for anything other than taking it home from London, and Manchester and back in the rain and heavy traffic in the first two weeks of owning it...maybe that's why we have not bonded yet!

Hmmmmmm...

I'm torn between the "driving for no reason" and "driving somewhere on an extremely tenuous errand" - which is the greater of the two?

I think the latter has it at the moment, as the former is just driving, and we don't need an excuse surely?

I'm sure that there was at least one reason somewhere in the back of my mind at some point, and that there were things (productive and non-productive) that I could have done in Bristol, but by the time I got there, I'd lost all interest and the drive back along country roads was suddenly a good idea. Just one of those "happiness is a car called maserati" moments...

I've had the car two weeks and done around 250 miles in the Yorkshire Dales just for the noise up and down the box. No reason other than to enjoy it.
