Had a great time in Valencia, will go back again! Did the trip up the coast and into Andorra today, the mountain roads are great as long as you're willing to overtake, and I only saw two plod...one I passed at 145 in a 120 zone (he was doing 130!) and just got a nod (erm, ok...)

...he smiled & gave thumbs-up when he cruised past in the service station car park later. Odd, but ok! Second one was in the mountains, parked & radar'd up, but I had a couple of flashes from oncoming trucks so was ready for him.

Andorra is a bl00dy racetrack...narrow winding streets and they all drive like they're Alonso...Doris sounds great though...

Back home, kids asleep in the back, wife asleep in the front (guess who wasn't drinking!) and another lovely drive.
Front of car an insect massacre!

Spring one def.....im looking into ways of being self employed so will be more flexible with time off

That sounds great, Dem. Be your own boss, always the best way. Needs respect & trust from those you deal with, but it sounds like you have that sewn up well!

We see....need someone to come in with me so at Christmas ill take it to them and ask them outright to do this in 2014!!
Dont mind one partner as you need to take days off here and there and lightens the overall load

Sounds to be a nice trip Chris, you're making me want to go back sooner rather than later..!!

2,150 miles would use around 100 gallons. Petrol is about £6 per gallon currently, so you have plenty more miles to drive before hitting the £1k figure, Chris!

Average of 17.7mpg so 121 gallons at that point. Luckily, a lot of it was bought in Spain (€1.33) or even in Andorra (€1.24!!) per litre. I was thinking of keeping the receipts, but don't know if I've still got them all.

Got up to 21.4mpg on some m-way stints, down to 10 in the mountains.

Interesting - I also get about 17-18mpg on average. Many on here seem to get significantly better than that and I can't understand how. I don't hoon the car everywhere and usually have a mixture of roads with plenty of motorway or A-road driving. I think I should expect better mpg than I'm getting?

I'm not sure about all these claims for more than 18mpg for general driving (except maybe Urby). I can get 21 in 6th at sitting at 80mph, but it starts dropping quickly any faster than that and plummets any time I hit a town or drive round London. I guess most people don't drive these beasts round towns or cities a lot.

I'm getting an average of 17.7. Saw 21 on a trip to Kent last week.

Thing is ... The computer seems to have some favourite mileage stats.

17.7
19.8
20.5

Think it has some "closest to" figures and sticks to them.

Still ... The best fun I've ever had at 17.7 mpg!
