Hey guys!
After a 16 month absence I have bought another Maserati Quattroporte, this time the newer V as opposed to the IV.

I am not knocking the IV but this is just another level of awesomeness compared to the last one.

I come from a very strong BMW background but there is only some much reliability & build quality you can take before you need to venture into the unknown....!

The IV excited & disappointed in equal measure. The V..........superb in every area.

I looked at the BMW E60 M5's before I saw this one 16 miles away. I went the next day & made a cheeky offer which the owner wanted to think about.

The next morning I thought I had pushed my luck so I started to look at a couple of others. The one in Northampton looked very tired & worn in comparison so I made my excuses & left. I then rang the silver one in Sheffield & arranged to drive up that morning to have a look at it.

14 minutes after speaking to the owner of the silver one the owner rang me to say both him & his wife thought I was a nice guy & that they would rather sell the car to me than someone else!

I offered to go straight there & give them a deposit & they said no it's okay just don't let them down. The following morning I rang them to arrange the money & by 11:00 i was the very happy owner of this!

Over the moon guys, I have waited the best part of 5 years to buy one of these........

Excuse the poor pictures, my daughter took one at BP, I took the others at work in strong sun light.

A proper photo shoot will be coming soon!

Great looking car. In a beautiful colour. I find that all of the very best people on this forum drive QP Vs. :D

Simply gorgeous. I still can't understand why they are so inexpensive (comparatively speaking, of course!).

Saw your car tonight, lovely shade of blue. You were there with your son, I think. Welcome, and I'll come say hi next time.

Hey Chris
That was me with my son, there were alot of people there who were quite familier with each other, it was a bit daunting to join in so I concentrated on keeping him out of trouble...he seems to find it too easily!

Good turn out though guys....

Oi I hope you are not knocking my QP IV (i.e. Your old one :) )

You might be glad to know you cost me a fortune as I now have a 4200 Spyder to go with it :)

I turned up for a mini winter meet with my 2-year old once, and he was up and down the cafe all the time so I understand how difficult it could be.

Why are they (relatively) cheaper than their same age GT's then? I have my personal view and it's down purely to looks for me, but owner's must have a more in depth view?
I wish GT's were these prices - I'd be like a kid in a sweet shop!

Enjoy every italian mile!

Congratulation B160NX and welcome. Love the car. I was standing there with Dem when we saw you wondering around with your son. As Dem, says you should have wondered over and said hello - we are a friendly bunch (mostly!) - especially the fellow QPV owners ;). Like you I was a bit sheepish on my first meet but soon got to know everyone over time.

Like you I have a fondness for Beemas (still have several as well as the QPV). You'll have to get used to remembering that the filler cap is on the other side compared to the Beemas. I sometimes forget myself if I haven't driven the Massie in a few weeks!

Have fun with the car. I always find lots of german cars Audis/Mercs/BMWs wanting a race or zooming up way too close from behind for some reason! Must rub them up the wrong way i guess.
