After splashing out on 4 new tyres thought may as well get the wheels tidied up... this is the result, well chuffed but now paranoid of kerbs, bumps and anything harder than candy floss!!!

went for a slight change of colour, from silver to the same grey as on the newer cars... Rim Renov8 in Colchester did the work and I am more than chuffed with what they did, the wheels had done several years in London and looked it! now they look like new.

Good colour choice, Matt. A big improvement (but I’m never a huge fan of ‘plain’ silver wheels on darker cars anyway). How ling did Renov8 take to do the job?

@Mattp - Swissvax Autobahn is your friend. It's a tremendously resilient wheel wax and will help keep them looking good.

Im not sure how long it took them, I turned up unannounced on weds afternoon and was told that the next available slot was going to be probably the next tues, with the wheels taking about 2 days to be done... I popped in monday lunchtime to drop off the new centre caps and TPMS valve stems, expecting them to be starting the job and was told the car would be ready that afternoon!
I think a combination of the car being there, and it not being another saxo (or whatever the kids drive these days!) or lease car going back helped expedite things.

The swissvax stuff is good, my better off brother uses that on his cars! when i get a few dry days, im going to get the wheels into the house and try one of the ceramic coatings.

That seems impressively fast. Did you take the wheels only or take the entire car and leave them to do the removal and refitting?

Autobahn ain't cheap, but it lasts a long time. It works out cheaper than the G-techniq ceramic coating. I've used that on the rears of the Vantage, but it's a right sod to get it jacked up and the wheels off. There's only one place to put an axle stand... and that's the jacking point, so you can only really do one wheel at a time. Like you, I'd rather take them off and do them at leisure in my office during some of the less exciting conference calls I spend my days on. Anyway, back on topic... the ceramic stuff does seem pretty good, but I still intend to apply a layer of Autobahn because I really like the finish.

Im not a fan of cars on stands, especially for days on end, so I just left the car there for them.

Wifey doesn't know that my wheels will be in the house yet, but the workshop is just too darn cold! so that will be interesting when i attempt that!

Mine was remarkably understanding when the old GTS ones were inside for a week or so. As long as they're clean and stay in my man-cave it's ok, but as I can't get the buggers off and the car safely on stands it's a moot point anyway.
