I have this week off and one of the things I plan to do (and really need to do given the amount I have!) is tidy up my photo storage and website and came across this sequence I had been trying to get for years but eventually managed last year. not particularly exciting shots on their own but as a set I am quite pleased with them..........still find any kind of wildlife easier than cars though!

impressive - take it marco at f2, what speed ?

thanks all for kind words. I have taken many keepers whilst on safari over the years but somehow getting this sequence means more than most I've been lucky enough to capture....except for maybe Misty the blue eyed leopard I use as my avatar given how rare blue eyed leopards are:unsure:
kit used was the sony 77 & my fav wildlife lens, a 25 yr old minolta 300mm 2.8 apo HS on a tripod, not a macro but very, very versatile. tried for f2.8 to save using high iso but depth of field was just too narrow to get enough keepers with manual focus so these are f4 with shutter speed 1000/s and iso around 1200 I think.

on a 300mm lense, that is impressive, yep on this type of lense F2 would take an impact on the output, still a mine field to me - F-stop / iso and depth. I've always tried to keep the iso low due to grain but after seeing your picture will be doing more testing :)

I've got an old Sony 717 - still a good camera and still use now and then but mainly now using the Nikon D300, just the lenses are expensive :(

would be great to some more of your work

the nikon and cybershot are totally different animals but good at what each do. dslr lens' are expensive but they should last a lifetime and any dslr body upgrades.
once I've tidied the folders I'll post a link:blushed:

Very good but where is the car ?

have you seen the state of the roads in kenya? :saifi3: these were taken last time I was over there........
