Hi Guys,

A sample of the sound of Larini's, no 3200 should be without them!

Sound very similar to my Tubis, do you have a full system or just back boxes?

It sounds nice once it goes past but there seems to be a whole lot of unnecessary whistling going on!

I have Larinis on mine. In my humble opinion it sounds awesome and makes me smile every time I drive it. However, it isn't subtle and the sound, although loud, isn't quite as sophisticated as I would like. Pulling up to a restaurant one lunchtime, my colleagues sitting outside said they couldn't work out whether it sounded more like an exotic power boat or a large trawler coming into port. I told myself it was the powerboat option :)

That would be the twin turbos that make this car such an impressive beast, they launch the car, later models sadly lack this.. you will also note the rear lights which in most peoples opinion are also far superior to later models that were built primarily for the clunky american market, rather than the more sophisticated and stylish European market that the 3200 is squarely aimed at.

Its a tongue in cheek pop at Ian....

And now with the obligatory oil/water pump assembly in the boot just in case:p.....good old 3200's

I heard from David Aswith this morning, another 4200 went bang over the weekend, oil pump failure at 40K!

I can confirm it sounds awesome in the flesh!!

i think the larini's sound better on the 3200 than the 4200... maybe its the deeper growl

Has anyone actually fitted 3200 boxes to a 4200??

It is quite achievable if you make custom connecting pipes... Anyone know the reason for Maserati changing the design?

Two totally different designs under the car, totally different engine and gearbox, turbo/non turbo, so totally different exhaust system to suit the routing under the car.

New standard back boxes for sale

For those of you in the UK, these Larini's came from Rob Whitehead's car after it came to an unfortunate end. If anyone still sees him please let him know that they are still going strong!
There is a big difference between the Standard back boxes and the Larini's, I had to fit new standard back boxes to pass Australian compliance, then I removed them and fitted the Larini's. The standard boxes are for sale if anyone is interested.
