Please forgive my ignorance... if you're staying 30mins from LeMans and all p*ssing it up till dawn etc. how do you get to and fro? the reason I ask I that I might have a place a similar distance to the North West... ?
Apologies, but I've never been there while the race is on so would be a virgin and know nothing... I've heard from plenty, especially about the drinking etc. but staying that far away I don't get it? what am I missing?

We don't drink and drive if that is what your asking, but we do put away a fair bit in the evenings, generally we don't drink during the day and leave it till noon.

TBH, after 4 days on the beers, very little is consumed over the race days so its not an issue.

I wasn't suggesting anyone would drink and drive, I just really don't have a clue, about the set up that's all... I've only really spoken to people that stay right near the circuit, so it's not an issue while they are there... so it's a holiday for a few days in the French countryside followed by the race then... and a trip down and back, sounds good... if I come I'd probably try to join you all till we would separate for the actual accommodation... having said that, I've realised there's something else I'm supposed to be doing on the 13th which I'd have to negotiate my way around ;o)
I get the picture ;o)

We prefer to stay away from the detritus, so a half an hour blat from the circuit to the tranquil farmhouse where we can make as much noise as we want is our preferred route.

Surely we can't be alone and others might want this too.

Incidentally we are looking for another house for 6-10 people if you have one???

after leaving the house for 4 hours and on return Benny had 18 bottles of Corona, it gives you an idea of how much drinking is being done.....that was at 2pm

Planning now underway, it's only 5 months next week!

This year we will be going a day early for those who want to, if not you are welcome to meet us in Bernay or in Le Mans:

Tuesday 9th June - Noon ferry Dover to Caiais staying in Le Touquet
Wednesday 10th June - Drive scenic route to Bernay to stay in Lion D'or (CONFIRMED) taking in lunch enroute in Lyons-la-Foret (3.5hrs / 160m)
Thursday 11th June - Drive to the accommodation in Pontvillain and Le Lude taking in lunch in Arnage (3hrs / 135m)
Friday 12th June - BBQ at La Flèche lake beach and Pistonheads Friday Service Meet
Saturday 13th June - Race Day
Sunday 14th June - Race Day followed by farewell BBQ at Les Blot
Monday 15th June - Autoroute to Calais with possible lunch stop in Honfleur (5hrs / 300m)

If you're at a loose end on the Friday morning this is something that we usually do.

It's a few miles north of Le Mans itself so it might be on the wrong side of town for you. There's always some interesting cars and my car was given pride of place in the middle of the display last year - one of only two Maseratis there.

It's a great show. We didn't make it last year for some reason, but were there en masse with the Masers in 2013. They asked me to join the parade lap but it would have cut into valuable drinking time later, so I declined!

Yep, done that loads of times, its ok, but we prefer to stand in Arnage with a beer and watch the idiots go past:

Ok, I have now sorted the hotel in Le Touquet and negotiated a good rate of £100/£50 a head for a twin for 2 inc breakfasts so I need numbers.

Ill be sending out an email shortly I need confirmation that you are coming and which days you want to attend.
