I have pretty much well got all the OCD bits sorted on the Abarth now. However, there was one area that kept bothering me when ever I got into the cock-pit of the car (and happens with many cars with leather seats of a certain vintage). This is the sagging leather to the driver's seat from the previous owner and also my own bony butt!
I looked for some products to shrink the leather but really couldn't find anything, so I looked on youtube and came across a few posts using a heat gun, micro-fibre cloth over a steamer. It says to carry this out approx. 3 times (depending on the severity). This is mine after the first application.
Firstly, go over the area with a steamer with micro-fibre cloth over it to protect the leather for approx. 3 minutes, this also draws out any ground in dirt.
Then apply the heat gun approx. 100mm from surface using circular motions taking the heat off after approx. 30 seconds and rub/massage the leather with micro-fibre cloth. I repeated this part 5 times........Can't wait to have another go at the weekend. Hope this is of help to some of you!
