Levante Trofeo pre-facelift and facelift differences (the sound in Europe)

Has anyone else spotted a difference in 2019-2020 and 2021- Levante Trofeo sounds in European models? I have difficulties comparing them in person, such a rare car where I live.

The PH article ( https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-driven/2021-maserati-levante-trofeo--ph-review/44099 ) says about the refreshed model in the UK/Europe the following: “Although the volume at full-chat is noticeably lower than before thanks no doubt to the new WLTP filter, it remains the most naturally tuneful model of its class.”

I find it interesting that the WLTP filter (the GPF filter) would only have arrived in 2021+, as with other manufacturers they arrived in late 2018 and ruined the sounds of especially turbocharged cars.

The PH article refers to the updated version of 2021+ having new pistons, rods, camshafts, and valves for more revving and efficiency. Has anyone else found that to be the case for the European version?

- Power in the new model is the same as in the older, 580hp, but the PH article says peak power is higher at 6750rpm vs. before 6250rpm
- However, does that apply to the European model as Maserati.com shows the higher 6750rpm for the facelifted Trofeo only for the US models here: https://www.media.maserati.com/en-us/releases/1580 as it shows the same old 6250rpm for the facelifted Levante Trofeo “European” / Worldwide model here: https://www.media.maserati.com/en-ww/press-kits/ma...
- Torque the same 730Nm, but the PH article says peak torque is broader 2250-5250rpm vs. in older model was 2500-5000rpm
- Once again, I can’t find the updated 2250-5250rpm range anywhere easily for the facelifted Levante Trofeo, have you guys found it? Maserati.com does show those torque improvements for the US models of facelifted Ghibli and Quattroporte Trofeo, but keeps it for Trofeo for the same old 2500-5000rpm here: https://www.media.maserati.com/en-us/releases/1580

Thanks in advance. Any comments or knowledge of the other differences with the facelift would be appreciated as well!

The Levante Tropheo is very rare here. I’d be surprised if they’ve sold 20 (though be delighted to be corrected). But what is clear is that such minor changes are next to irrelevant. On a car such as this, who cares if the power band is broader by 200rpm or so? It makes a headline in a car mag, but is meaningless in the real World, for a car built as an SUV/family wagon.

Thanks Ewan, same problem in my country: Not many Trofeos so would need to source one from a bigger European country. To clarify, I am mostly interested in the sound difference. The new tail lights, better infotainment, or wireless charging and wireless apple carplay, or even the (potentially) different engine specs make a little difference.

But would be just nice to know if going for older Levante Trofeo provides better engine sound or not.

Such a subtle difference is nice to know. Reminds me of 10 years ago going for a Granturismo S MC-Shift instead of the same model with Automatic, very noticeable difference in driver emotion and fun, whereas the change on paper looks next to irrelevant.
