Light damage 4200

Should be easy enough to fix but I'm thinking this car is possibly a dog - I may be wrong but it looks to be a non-original colour thickly applied.

I would need to whip out the tints and change the back lights let alone paint the wheels. I guess if you could throw a door on it and paint it for a grand or two it could be fun, but it just doesn't smell quite right to me.

here she is Pimp my 4200

Link seems to take ages- it's on Copart if you hadn't guessed!

Its cheap if nothing else!

Don't like the colour but to be fair, it would cost £6-700 to paint the side of the car, where you could paint the whole thing if you did the prep for £1500 cash

Doors going to be what, £150 plus £150 for other odds and sods.

I am looking for a track car!

Whats wrong with high mileage Nick mines on 103,000.
Im with Matt buy it for a track car gutt the inside and just put some race seats and harness's in and use her.
Phil.

Nothing wrong with high milage Phil, rather see a car used than sitting in a garage! I was just pointing out it had been well used.

If you're considering buying it as a trackday car then why bother fixing the damage? Doesn't look structural from the pics (an inspection will confirm this), so if not I probably wouldn't bother. It's already modified enough to wear the battle scars well. I like the rear lights, best thing somebody could have done with those dreadful Honda Prelude-like abominations!

Awaiting comments/general abuse/defensiveness from 4200/Gransport owners who "quite like the lights really"...yeah, right! :mock8:

It looks like original paint when you see the bonnet shot, strange purple.

It's the red showing through the damage that made me curious, plus I've not seen that colour on one before. The way the paint has cracked around the impact points also makes it look too thick to be original.

Agree as a track day special it has potential!

Re the colour, the engine bay looks consistent with the body, so I'd guess whatever it hit was red.

You could get your 4200 in any colour, and I have seen QP's in this same paint. Under coat on some colours is often far away from the final shade...my black car had white primer!!!!
