Llandow Track Day April 2017

Thanks Andy for another super day,

The GTV decided to switch on the engine management light again when I hit a pothole on the way so it was quite challenging to trudge round the track in 'limp home' mode.
Instantly cured when I reversed onto the ramps when I got home (as it did yesterday) So if I don't hit another pothole before Saturday it should be OK for Brooklands track and hill. Tomorrow I will investigate further for a permanent cure.

Thanks also to Mike for the demonstration in the Skoda and also Pete (-R) for the Vauxhall 220 demo. It's interesting to compare other marques on the track, on track tyres.

Does the GTV ever make a track day without a fault? I seem to remember it was parked up in October as well.

Not that I can say too much, I managed 10 minutes last time before being off the road for two weeks.

Shame I missed out this time.

I enjoyed that Vantage with you very much. Not 100% sold on that gearbox though. Would need to be V12 manual vantage for me I think.

Would agree Dean....Loved the car and it was so well balanced on track. You could place it perfectly. Handled like a dream as well....but yes that was strange down the straight when the gearbox didn't want to change up. Think the manual may be the way to go. Lovely car though. Now the F Type speed box was a dream but then a more modern car.....Now have have a difficult decision after yesterday F Type or Vantage....Shame I don't have that decision to make But then if I wanted 4 seats Miles GTS does a great job on track as well......

It's a typical 18 year old MrMickS - moody, sulky, rebellious and out to cause embarrassment just for the **** of it. Don't you just love 'em though!!

I will give it some counselling today (or a clout round the ear, as the old ways are usually more effective) and I'm sure it will be it's usual charming self at Brooklands tomorrow.

Pity you weren't able to make it to Llandow. It was a bit chilly but a good day out as the pictures and comments indicate.

I really enjoyed the day as did the other vx owners. We stayed until about 4:30 and had the track to ourselves at the end

Great to meet some new faces and took a few people out for drives which was good fun and good to get people's feed back on the car and my hamfisted driving!

Definitely up for another one.

As the Tesla has a dashcam fitted, I have some footage following a couple of cars around. Nothing too exciting although you do get to hear those V8 rather well considering mine's on the quiet side!

I'm happy to post, but won't do through and upload them if anyone has any reservations.

Happy to join you on the next one! Must get better brakes and stickier tyres. My economy Michelins seemed to have survived rather well considering the abrasiveness of Llandow...

Great to meet you and thanks for supporting. Really enjoyed the passenger ride...It is certainly like no other car on the day....Ghostly quiet yet as fast as a b4stard.....Amazing experience.

If I hadn't put it in then I would have bent it, that's my theory anyway. Always best to put a toe eye in on a track day imo.

Andy and team- I am gutted I missed you all.
I have had a mare- am due to fly out to the USA to give a massive talk tomorrow and my mac has let me down and crashed - been on phone to Apple care on and off since yesterday. If I can't get the info back I am truly ******.
Hope to meet you all soon at the next one with my new car which is imminently to be purchased on my return
