Looking for a Gransport

Hi, I’ve been lurking for a while, it’s time to change my AMG E55 for something a bit more interesting, and a Gransport is the front runner, ahead of a 968 (yes, quite different cars). I know there’s a well looked after one on here, in Kettering, that I need to enquire about. I’d love a green one, but condition and history are going to have to be more important. Mileage not an issue at the right price. Hopefully see you as an owner in the next couple of months!

I don't think you'll find a green GS, Mexico Verde was a 3200/early 4200 colour but not common on layer models.
You can't go wrong with Phil's suggestion.

Welcome…..The blue high mile one in here looks good value with the history and condition it is in. Some high praise in the condition last time it was service and Sports Italia who said it was better than cars with half the mileage. Has to be worth a look at 15k…. Advert is on here which Insure is the one you are talking about.

As far as I have been able to ascertain, there were only ever two green GS cars.
At least as far as RHD is concerned...I think a few have been trotted out in LHD over in the USA.

Of the 44 RHD GS spyders, 23 of the 26 UK examples I can account for, and only 1 of 23 was verde. I can only account for 8 of the remaining 18, and none of the 8 were verde. Coupes are a different matter however, being more plentiful. But you may indeed be right.

Verde Goodwood is a sensational colour scheme. That Spyder sold by McGrath's was the most gorgeous thing this side of a 3500 vignale Spyder.

If I were the OP I'd chase up McGraths to see if their customer is ready to sell yet....

GS and 968 is the most perplexing combination you could imagine. Well...short of a Ducati and a trabbi. I've a GS and a 968 CS at present. If you live near twisties and want to continually wring the neck off....then 968 it is. But unless you get comfort seats it's not a pleasurable tourer. I prefer my GS 90% of the time.

I have a GS and a 968 convertible.

One of them has to go. Although I’m thinking about those wheel trolley things so I can move them around the garage.

I’ll have a word with my boss about that MC, it’s gorgeous. Unfortunately it’s a bog standard pauper spec Gransport for me. The hardship…

This for me. ;)

I’ve been lucky enough to sit in this MCV… it’s a very, very special place to be sat inside. Not that the regular GS is a bad place to be at all, but those MC12/Enzo seats and the alcantara.. wow.

I bought my GS from Richatd Grace (coming up to 6 years ago this autumn). I can recommend a chat with him. My suggestion is the blue GS over the MC for different reasons that I wont go into here on this forum.

Talk to Dicky would be my suggestion. If not the blue GS, he could source you a different GS.

P.S. Mine's not for sale.

Thanks all, without wishing to encourage naming and shaming of anyone/thing (after 18 years have just had a week’s ban on pistonheads for joking about a Swadlincote based dealer!), is there any Gransport on the market I should be particularly, er, “aware” of? I’m sure I saw a thread that mentioned a black one? I’m away at the moment but interested in the Med blue high miler and an anniversary blue one on carandclassic. Don’t want to waste time on others that may have surprises in their history. The two in my sights seem to have been excellently maintained.
