Looks like the 50,000 a year is not so daft

30,000 would seem to be bankable from that (inc Levante) depending how much of the QP/Ghibli volume is initial interest. The Ghibli demand seems light to me.

Same people think the GranTurismo is being replaced sometime next year. No chance!

Ive looked at a "technology road map" as they call it from a supplier of a large component sub system for the new GT and it has 2015 test on the spec sheet, in my mind thats a 2016 launch.

Ill have to kill you all now!

Alot of these marques are now launched in China simply because of the number of millionaires out there and such is the demand for cars like the Bentley and Maserati that they would be foolish to turn them down.

Well that article is bad news for me. Delivery dates are going to slip into next year: I can't see what is presumably still a bespoke factory pumping out high unit numbers.

Some other interesting views if you follow a couple of links to http://www.edmunds.com/car-news/2015-maserati-granturismo-to-signal-new-styling-direction.html:

"• The Maseratis will be closer to 2+2s than the roomier four-seaters that they are today.
• The rear seats of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio will shrink, thanks to the addition of the Maserati Ghibli sedan to the lineup.

LONDON — The 2015 Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio will reveal a new styling direction for the marque, company insiders told Edmunds, and the cars will likely be closer to 2+2s rather than the roomier four-seaters that they are today.

The Maserati Quattroporte sedan, the just-released Ghibli sedan and the upcoming Levante SUV all share a similar sculptural character, but the next-generation GranTurismo coupe and its GranCabrio sibling will update the brand's vehicle design language.

Maserati has decided to reduce the size of the rear seat areas of these cars because it believes that the new four-door Ghibli sedan now provides customers with a sporting four-seater of the GranTurismo's size, allowing the next-generation versions of these cars to be more compact and dynamic.

I remember reading that a while ago. To my mind this is Maserati throwing away it's USP Coupe wise. I don't really want a saloon - a bit old man for my taste - and there are already plenty of useless rear seat coupes on the market, 911, XKR, DB9...

I agree. I shall think myself lucky that I am unlikely to be able to afford anything newer than a GT for the next several years :D

Nice to know that the replacement is unlikely to appeal, to me at least. :goodnews:
