Unfortunately it only puts out 360bhp. Shame as it sounds like it could take the 420.Great looking car, I drove the V6 one at Hethel on a corporate day and not to sound glib but it never really felt like 400bhp to me, felt like it needed another 100bhp as the chassis is so composed and capable. It sounded good but the performance felt lacking to me.
Also, the gearshift was not bad but still a bit rubbery like a lot of those mid engined lotus cars.
As a result I could imagine that the AMG engine will feel stronger regardless of the figures....plus a bit lighter?
Interested to know whether they will put the full 420bhp one in from the A45 which sounds like a bit of an animal for a 2.0 Turbo, or whether this one could be mapped etc.
Most of those cars were rebadged Chinese **** so the 150,000 might not be that optimistic, doesn’t take much effort to stick a yellow circle on a GeelyLovely car.
But how can Lotus make a loss of nearly £600M last year, on a turnover of about £530M and a record number of car sales (nearly 7000)?
The boss claims they’ll sell 150,000 cars a year by 2028. So at least he has a sense of humour.
True. 149,000 will be EV SUV’s. Maybe 1000 will be sports cars. Which begs the question, when is a Lotus, not a Lotus? Most of those cars were rebadged Chinese **** so the 150,000 might not be that optimistic, doesn’t take much effort to stick a yellow circle on a Geely
