Yes most of it on a 4.2 however if you want more noise then an unsilenced X pipe does help as the original is a silenced X.

Larini would be my preference, however I'm considering buying an Alfa Spider, which takes away from the Maserati fund unfortunately. Will run the numbers again, once I have a firm price for the Alfa.

FYI center silencer removal 4.2 Granturismo

Getting this done tomorrow. Have asked the body shop for a couple of short before and after video clips.
Will put them up on YouTube, for future reference and put a link here.

I’ll be posting a new video soon of my new set up. Larini sports cats, x-pipe & rear boxes.. hoping the cats make a big difference to the existing set up. They should arrive next week

That's the set up I had on my MC-Shift, absolutely insane! It only stayed on for around 6 months and one year on, I'm not sure my ears have recovered!

Did you feel the sports cats made a big difference? I swear it drives better, or maybe I'm driving differently..

I think I'll take one part of the system off when I come to sell

Of the three, the sports cats made the biggest difference and then the X. Once I added the rear boxes, it was only really the volume that increased (massively) but the cats were far and away the biggest improvement. I only didn't keep them to go on the Stradale (I sold them to Phil) because I thought it would make the Stradale too loud, but I wouldn't rule out adding them in the future. So maybe I should ask you for first dibs on your sport cats when you come to sell?!
Enjoy your mods but I hope for your neighbours' sake, you don't set off too early in the morning!

Contigo, it's hard to imagine one sounding any louder but as mine is only a 4.2 I'd imagine a 4.7 would murder it!

Here's a quick video of me taking it up to 4k revs and a cold start.. video has been blurred deliberately :) I'll get some better videos as there was to many speed bumps around!

Yep don't forget as you say more displacement , MC shift and also H pipe (louder than X), I like the sound of yours though :D

I like that - especially the cold start, you get the sound followed a few seconds later by the steam from 4 exhausts.
Not sure of the final line though,

my neighbours haven't complained

Its not really in the spirit of an ASBO !
