Some of you may remember a few posts over the months regards a long standing issue with my F1 box
https://www.sportsmaserati.com/index.php?threads/f1-gearbox-experts.26682/#post-636454
Basically after a long long run out, 5+ hours, the box would start to struggle getting into 1st. Been going on for ages now and only ever after a long run.
Well dropped her off at Marios about 5 weeks ago, have done 900 miles since and happy to report issue well and truly gone.
What’s also happened is that a very short delay in 1st engaging, even when the problem wasn’t there, and by delY I mean like a second, has 100% disappeared, 1st engages the instant I press that paddle.
Looks like all it needed was a proper pukka clutch setup. I was also paranoid over the bleed screws but Marios checked these and they were all fine.
Can’t thank Autoshield enough. She’s like a new car and my annoyance at this issue manifesting itself has gone.
Learning curve is how disappointing it is that so few can work on these boxes it seems. Maserati included, I cannot fathom out how a dealer can not know all the ins and outs of them. Yes it’s a complicated little piece of kit but it’s a gearbox at the end of the day and having the proper gear should be enough to sort all issues.
Happy chap at last and also thanks to Zep for taking the personal time to assist me in this, a personal touch and much appreciated doing some leg work on my behalf
