I must have to see through my readers; they have lenses like beer bottle bottoms.

The back certainly looks like a 32 or 42. I guess the sport button must have been on or msp off.

A friend of mine crashed his QP into a LR Defender about two weeks ago. LR guy steered into his side of the road. QP written off. Surprisingly LR also looked pretty beat up.

A defender is roughly the same weight as a QP - 2000 kg or thereabouts.

Worst time of year for that sort of thing as we all forget over the summer how dangerous rain and/or low temperatures are with wide, summer rubber. Have my winter tyres going on next week.

They were of course pre-crumple zones etc the LR......but a hefty beast all the same, plus when very old who knows condition of the ladder chassis etc

Yeh, they last about 20 years then people replace them with a galvanised chassis, costs about £5k IIRC all in but then the car will last forever. Sold mine at ten years/100,000 miles, went very quickly.

Defenders hold their value like nobodies business.....even going up at times, aint they stopping production soon? Mind you Jaguar /LR have a huge model expansion programme lined up over the next 5 years

18 months time. I looked at buying a 110 wagon as a keeper but it was going to be £30k incl the VAT. Lower spec ten year old ones are about £14k.

Why don't they ship production overseas for a few more years.........still a big demand, plus if they up-rated a few areas....could go on for another 10!

Even sell the things in kit form surely!!!!

Well my friend is lucky to be in one piece. Broke his collar bone and something else. Saw the pics and it wasn't pretty.
