How do you twin turbo a straight engine? Genuinely curious and CBA to google after a night on the rakia....

Small turbo for fast response at low revs and big turbo for later on. That's how the 335d/535d works.

Thanks.

So in line, that is one feeding another? I assume that V blocks have one feeding each bank? Stand to be corrected, natch.

We've had this similar scenario years ago...proper Maserati 3200 versus the sketchy Fiat/Ferrari 4200!

The petrol engine is pukka. Ingegner Martinelli knows his stuff. The diesel engine is done by VM Motori.

Saw the 2 petrol engines on show at Geneva, both cutaways. Looked very compact and unusual in that the gear train is at the rear of the engine but at least it's chain and not belt driven! No diesel on show which is surprising given the Swiss eco credentials. Petrol engines sound good in vid clips of the new QP, hopefully the Ghibli will be more sporting. Diesel output not that impressive when compared with the latest from Germany and Jag, suspect it leaves the door open for an "uprated" diesel in the future.
Cheers Blu
