The Italian based automaker Maserati has recently put a stop to rumors which were saying that the company will produce a new supercar based on the Ferrari LaFerrari.

According to the guys at Edmunds, the announcement has been made by Harald Wester, the Maserati CEO, who confirmed than no exotic supercar, based on the brand new Ferrari LaFerrari, will wear the 'trident' logos on its body anytime soon. This doesn’t mean that the model in question will never see daylight and it doesn’t mean either that Maserati won’t continue to offer limited edition of its powerful vehicles.

As a quick reminder, the Ferrari LaFerrari has been officially presented to the public during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The model is powered by a 6,262cc V12 engine, producing 800 HP (588 kW) at 9,000 rpm and 700 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm, mated to an electric motor, with 163 HP (120 kW) and 270 Nm of torque (199 lb-ft). The total output stands at 963 HP (708 kW) and it’s enough to allow the supercar to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). Prices for the model have been set at 1.3 million euros.

Not a suprise really...more important 'bread and butter' models to go first...
