Just got back from a lovely 1 week break in Miami and another week in Los Angeles. Was surprised to see the number of Maserati Granturusmo's and Ghibli's out there! Not exaggerating but every 30-40 cars passing one was a Maser! The Ghiblis can be seen out there like BMWs and Audis here in the UK. Many were something badged SQ4 which I have not seen in the UK as yet - these had a more aggressive bodykit almost looked like the one used in Fast and Furious recently!

The GTS was very common too and most were white.

Certainly not as rare a car as in the UK and my 9 year old daughter observed this too as on our journey back I was asking her what differences she found between the UK and the USA and I was VERY amused when she said "there are more Masers in America" :happy2:

Certainly nothing like that in Melbourne, but I must say that the number of GT's getting around seems to have increased significantly in the last 18 months.

Interesting....Sounds like the US are keeping the money flowing then......

SQ4 is the four wheel drive cars....You will not see then in the UK as they can not be converted into RHD...It would cost to much to convert.

Maserati have very aggressively marketed the Ghibli in the USA, if you didn't see it check out the ad they ran during the superbowl (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmpiwU50f5w), its possible its a car designed for the US market, although i cant see the diesel being popular there. Its all good it means they might not go out of business and they might also have some money to fix our broken wishbones :)

I was in LA and San Fran for last year's summer hols and had exactly the same experience. Beverly Hills was full of Masers (although still outnumbered by Porsche by about 10 to 1). By contrast, went to Amalfi and Capri this year and did not see a single Maser!

They dont seem to be a common site in its native country. There were rumours that if you had a flash car, you would be tailed home and robbed, dont know if there is any truth in that mind.

Very good advert, that exhaust note sold the car, 80 seconds of ,I wonder what this ad is for, 10 seconds of I want one, very clever.

People are so stuck in their brand loyalty they probably don't even consider Maserati , they're suckered in with gadgets on top end cars they hardly ever use

Interesting re: USA.

I'd be lucky if I see one Maserati a month of older or newer models in Sydney on my daily commute into and out of the city.
