Outside our NY office as we went to lunch. It doesn't actually *look* that big in this setting...

Maserati's - Spotted

Black GT just pulled into the space in front of me in sainsburys...two adults inside and it's a parent & child slot on a busy evening. A55 H0LE the number plate. Well, it should have been.

No idea why parents with kids should have preferentially treatment in car parks?...never had them when I was a kid may be thats why we are all obease now. Sainsbury where I shop has fifty of them and the same number of disabled bays all wide enough for a tank and full of Micras or SUVs...for us unwanted we have to use motorcycle size bays and climb out of the sun roof.

Disabled ones only used 08:00 - 16:00 and the 'with pram' used before and after the school run...rest of the day and night they are empty.

It's ok, Peter...next time I'm down sainsburys with the nipper I'll make sure I park in a normal slot next to something expensive...the guy will have no cause for complaint about the scrapes and dints and scuff marks from the nippers muddy shoes.

Well, ok I'm big & strong enough to lift an uncooperative 2-year old out of a half closed door and not cause all that, but most mums aren't - especially if there are two to control. The parent bays are there to protect your cars from that kind of thing as much as to make sure the parents can park closer and make their life easier!

While I accept the logic, I still wonder how our parents managed without wrecking the cars adjacent?

Because the cars were half the size, and we didn't have stupidmarkets... ;)

God I'm old...

Heh. You're older than I am, cos I surely remember being dragged to Snainsbury's once per week. And the parking spaces are bigger :)

It's the Q7's and other similar, ridiculous heaps of steel that people insist on manoeuvring (I hate to call it driving) round crowded cities and small towns these days...you need a kiddie space just to park it in the first place never mind unfolding it's appendages so you can descend. Probably takes a spare Nissan micra engine just to fold the door mirrors on those things, they are huge! Sorry, boiling blood.

Sainburys, never heard of them when I was a kid but we were North of the gap. Remember a Tesco Hypermarket opening but that was a once a year special day out.

New QP on the M6 / M42 link road this morning, first I have seen on the road it actually don't look as big as it does when parked stationary.
