Hi Guys Recently purchased a lovely 2018 granturismo MC Stradale but have been told by someone it may actually only be an MC . How can I tell the difference as it says MC Stradale on the V5

If it's 2018, I assume it's a facelift? If so, I don't believe that they made a Stradale version in the sense of the earlier cars. The major difference will be the gearbox as the original Stradales had the semi auto manual gearbox - if yours has a gear lever then it isn't a Stradale. Production of those also stopped in 2016 - mine is one of the last and was built mid 2016.

If you can post some pics then someone will be able to confirm.

It's not unusual for the DVLA to put the wrong model on the V5.

Sorry!

Hi, I take it being a 2018 car it is a facelift in which case Maserati never made a Stradale with the facelift. People selling them often call them a Stradale when in fact they aren’t. I think the latest Stradale is around 2016 maybe.

Thanks guys. Looks like they sold me the car as a stradale instead of an MC . Would I have grounds to return the car . Only had it just under 3 weeks . Makes the £60k I paid for it seem quite a lot.

And of course, the Stradale has the carbon ceramic brakes.

I would definitely be be talking to the dealer and claiming it was miss sold. However, unless they are a specialist or main dealer they could try to argue that they went by the V5.

The other consideration ; did you get the car you thought you would get, in terms of spec / tech etc afterall you are clearly not sure exactly what a Stradale is and they are very different to the car your bought.

Very unfortunate, try not to let it spoil your Maserati experience.

I would say so... a Stradale commands a significant premium over an MC. So you may he been overcharged somewhat

Are you happy with the car?

Looking on auto trader the going rate for a 2018 granturismo of any sort (Sport or MC) is between 55-65k, depending on mileage etc.. So yours is bang in the middle.

They are all advertised wrong as well, as all the MC's say MC-Shift, when they're actually Auto.

You can hand any car back within 28days of purchase regardless.

After that it's a little more involved and you and the dealer have to agree, and deductions get made etc.. Etc.

I would say, depending on spec, mileage and condition 60k seems about right, and an MC is still a cracking car!
So you have to decide if you're only interested in a granturismo if it's a 'Stradale' in which case, you need to do much more research as you obviously aren't sure on what you've been looking at.
It'll have to be an older car, it'll have an F1 (MC-Shift) gearbox and carbon ceramic brakes.

Are those things 'must haves' for you?

If not, just enjoy what you've got.

It’s not a Stradale, but you’ve probably paid about the right price for what it is. So if you are happy with it, keep it.
But if you really want a proper Stradale, look at the black one for sale at Richard Grace Cars. Great car, at about the same money.
