Wondered if anyone on here swapped an MC shift for an MC Stradale? How do the cars compare? The noise, the acceleration, the gear changes and the refinement? Just wondering....

Yeti on here I think has done so.

Are you looking to follow the same path? I have to say I would love to do so in a few years from now

The noise is one of the best of any car for sale ....... I've driven one and it's worth every penny....

Have to admit having only spent 5 months in my GTS I'm already pondering whether a 4 seat Stradale would be the next move in a few years.

I was in at JCT Leeds on Saturday and they had 2 in. Just the subtle changes on the GT in general (new seats, feels more comfy and cockpit style) was nice to sit in and that was on the Stradale's even.

I am getting tempted as was at the lights next to a lovely white one the other night and it just looked amazing! I wonder how different the two cars are to live with though as there is a HUGE price difference for the 4 seat version for now so I wonder if the bang for £ makes the MC Shift a better proposition.

I would love to be offered an extended test drive in one for say over a weekend so that I can really compare the two but I know no dealer in the country would consider that :) I was once given an M6 with competition pack for a whole weekend by BMW - was great fun :)

Yes, a 4 seater Strad for the weekend would be great but there could be tears when it's time to hand it back on Monday morning!

Either that or we could end up loving our MC Shifts even more for the value they offer :) Will never know until we have driven them properly (not just a test drive)...Looking forward to seeing what Yeti has to say. I have no doubt that Stradale WILL be the better car - the question is "how better"? £50k better - Not sure........

Yes, it's a huge chunk to add but once you have one maybe you wouldn't yearn for something else whereas with the MCS as great as it is, I can't help feeling the Strad would be an even better experience!
Let's see what the next few years bring but until, I'm sure that we will be both go on thoroughly enjoying what we are lucky enough to already have

from a totally outside perspective I have to say that the extras you get from the strad do not add up with my man maths so as the old song goes.............if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you are with lol

Absolutely Agree...

Funny enough a lot of the chaps on Pistonheads who had a Stradale ended up in a 458 so guess that would be the natural next "want" after life with a Stradale :)

I have also been pondering this, but can't justify the huge additional cost for something that may actually be less useable on a day to day basis. I have no doubt the Stradale will be the better car if pressing on, but would it do the everyday stuff as well, quick trip to the shops, long motorway runs stop start traffic etc? The MC-Shift has such a broad range of abilities that my fear would be by moving to a Stradale you might loose more than you gain, but would be more than happy to be proved wrong!

I sold my Grancabrio and recently bought a 13' Grancabrio MC. I love it's looks and sound!

1) Sound- amazing however I had my exhaust valves open all the time on the grancabrio and the sound was very similar to having the MC in sport mode. There is a slight difference however between both cars with their valves open.

2) Handling is completely differnt- much stiffer but still a comfortable ride. Steering more precise than my prev car.

3) bodystyling is eye-catching with all the vents in the wings/ bonnet and boot spoiler.

4) Power- to be honest this one has more BHP however I can't notice a considerable difference. Gearshift are quicker and smoother.

Does it justify the extra money?- I believe the bodystyling and that Red MC badge on the dash did it for me.....

A great combo, congrats.

The extra money is worth. we will never understand why, but this is how marketing works.

That's where we differ. Perhaps I love mine a bit too much...

Good thread. Personally I couldn't justify chucking £40-60k at a car that whilst better doesn't give me any more of what I want.

Just think what you could get for that money. Is a Strad really twice as good as my MC? If I was buying new it would be an easier decision.
