Merak project anyone?

I'm not mechanically inclined, so wouldn't have a clue where/how to start a project like restoring this Merak but out of curiosity (and stupidity), I contacted the seller and it can be had for £15k. If it took £40k to bring up to pristine, it'd owe near £60k but with it not being an SS, not sure if it would even sell for what it'd owe. Also, he lists it as a 2.0 but I'm pretty certain that they didn't bring in the 2.0 until 1978?

That does look in a sorry state but such lovely lines. I've personally always preferred them to the Bora

It would be a brave man that bought that. Just buy a mint one and save yourself the headache....

Cars in that condition are only worth doing if you have the time, skills, space and want a hobby.

Found a 1976 car catalogue when clearing my dad's house out
