Mirror Memory setting failure - so so frustrating

Hi all,
I'm a new member and a new Maserati 4200 CC owner (but owned Ferrari 360 so used to wierd part failures!)

The mirrors I understand can have their positions saved via the memory seat button. I've follow the manual to the letter, but the mirrors go in their own direction when putting into reverse and then back to 1st

Is the fault with the memory module - note seats dont save (but it beeps when I push!). Is it a complete part or an isolated fault?

Anyone else suffered with this issue? It's so annoying having to constantly alter the mirrors each time I reverse!!

I am not sure of the issue exactly but there is a feature where the mirrors are supposed to move when you put in reverse so you can see the kerb. On most cars if you don't want this to happen you move the mirror adjust select switch to the other mirror or the central neutral position if there is one. Also be sure to save the mirror poisiton in both reverse and 1st

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I will try, but I think its moves anyway no matter where the select switch is positioned!

Do the seat reset that's listed in your manual.

Then try again. Otherwise I think you'll need to scan the car for faults

Catman means do the seat reset procedure that is listed in the manual. Its also on several threads on the forum:

From what i can recall the memory seat module is buried in the seat itself and proun to failure.

It is usually the seat memory function that fails first and the mirror dip function still works.

If your getting 5 beeps when you turn the ignition key to the on position it indicates the seat memory module is faulty / has an error.

Try a battery reset via the isolator switch in the boot followed by a seat reset. Then try the mirror set procedure again for both 1st and reverse gears and make sure the mirror setting switch is put back to the middle / locked position once your done.

Thanks - will do as you've suggested, and thanks for your advise

Do the reset. They are *meant* to move when you select reverse. You need to set both positions

You select reverse and then set the position you want the mirror to be in when in reverse. Then you move the selector switch to the RHS and it should then assume the set position when selecting reverse.
