MJ Sport Exhaust

Hi Guys,
Although i like the sound of my standard 4200 exhaust, however after too much trawling through You Tube and the numerous sounds of Larini systems etc I find myself wanting to take the plunge on an exhaust upgrade to acquire a Ferrari esque sound.
After emailing MJ exhausts in Walsall they have informed me that for £395 I can have a set of back boxes fitted and supplied. All their feedback I have read seems pretty good. The boxes will be stainless steel and welded on and the required sound will be achieved so they claim.
Is this worth going for or should I go down the Larini line for probably £xxx?
Thanks J

They fitted a system on my motorhome, let's just say the quality matches the price and the service !

MJ are OK for the money, I was not that impressed with the sound. On my 3200 I went for Larini and have never regretted it.

AVOID !!!!!! I bought these for my car and there didn't change the noise that much plus there are not very good quality and I think mine are starting to sound very tinnie . I going to replace them with larini when I can .

If you want Ferrari style, then you need an X-pipe. Also from Benny, samesame-price. Number one service! Much cheapness!

Problem is, it's addictive ;)

Larini pipes are a work of art but I would only buy them s/h personally - they are pretty extortionate new but you do get what you pay for. Needless to say, they sound great too

It's the truth. Start with X if you want more noise but less lunatic than, as Ben colourfully put it, a satanic blacksmith giving it the bollox with two anvils at once. Move on to the bigger investment of Larini or a bespoke system after that.

Justin, it's pretty well known the straight through pipes made by Autoshield are good vfm at about £650 a pair. I've a set of Tubi's coming off a 4200 this week that are nearly new. I think they're another option but are a bit dearer, they're £1500 new but I need half that delivered.

I have. Set of Autosheild backbones on mine (3200) and they really are very nice quality. I had silenced straight through's to begin with but these add just a little more. As above the issue really is that once you start you'll just want more... My CAT's will be replaced with sports versions at some point in the near future...

Also check which grade of stainless steel is used, some are just enough for a dictionary definition.
