More claptrap from Autocar..

The magazine which as far as I can see has been quite poor in its coverage of Maserati has in its paper edition an airbrushed pic and claim that Maserati are to do a version of the Alfa 4C etc etc. Not heard this before and somehow doubt it as it would step on Ferrari's toes so probably just another Autocar "made up story" to fill the pages episode.

Named the GranSport, it will be the 4C underpinnings with the Ferrari v8 in it and a weight of 1200kg.

0-60 was under 4 seconds and I said at the time that Ferrari would not let them make it.

Price tag of £75k band and the artist impression I saw was to die for.

Here's hoping but don't hold your breath.

So a Stradale for a 1/3 of the price...yeah sure! Like you said, no chance of that.

The 458 was announced in 2009, the replacement must be due 2014 maybe? Ferrari had in the past said they would be going for lighter rather than just more bhp.

I think there was something about the nose hitting the tarmac under heavy braking, massive problem and it's gone so quiet that they have obviously hit serious problems.

Not heard a dicky Andy. I still have my grand down as deposit, but to be honest if the Maser version is on the cards, I am having it!

I just question the engine. I can't see the 4.7 going in it would be suicide (what a way to go though) 4.2, maybe, but I feel they will use something else, the V6 that Ferrari have built for Alfa/Maserati would make more sense.

I'd assume that the NA engines will die with the current GT range.

I's wure thats what I read Simon..The new Ferrari V8 will take over...This engine will be in the 458 replacememnt but in a higher state of tune...
