I was there with my dad and uncle and almost bumped into Princess Anne and Mark Phillips, we were brushed aside by a big burley rozzer ;)

:oops:..he did actually say "Velly nice work if you can get it" didn't he? ....and did I hear him call it a 'Yensen'?? - funny how he also says that British spares are also more readily available .... as you're going to need them :D

Van der Valk them tune nice to hear again. Lots of Johhny Foreigner jibes going on, amazing that was the norm.

the good old days, love thy neighbour, black and white minstrel show, rising damp, bernard manning, jim davidson and all just harmless comedy instead of all this political correctness , cant say feck all these days without someone getting the hump over nothing

Agree with what you are saying L2S, But programs like you mention and 'Love Thy Neighbour' are from the past and need to stay there, the amount of 'racial ribbing' I used to get at school the day after this program was upsetting for me as a young lad. I guess it was the same as someone with glasses being called 'Four Eyes' or an over weight kid being called the 'Goodyear Blimp'..............But as you were saying, I had a meeting with a contractor yesterday about a Project Handover and whilst talking about some double doors needing to be replaced, I was corrected and told "You can't call them 'Slave & Master' doors anymore, they are 'Big Door' and 'Little Door'...............FFS!!

agreed, bullying and racial ribbing is completely out of order, heard on the good morning show this morning that the BBC are now saying "Fisher people" instead of "Fisherman", that's just bloomin ridiculous and just like the Fireman thing as well

Indeed. And some of the quoted were not 'ribbing' or god forbid 'banter' but very much bullying.

However the slave / master thing. Jeez

I was there too on my Honeymoon.
It was my first show and I really enjoyed it.
Tried to bluff my way onto the Aston stand but they were having none of it

I'm sure I went in '73 too (I certainly remember a green Countach at EC), and iirc there was a pink 911 on the Porsche stand.
