MSP light on the dash with a line through it. Just wondering if the unit in the center console (bosch) is a cross-over part to other models or any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Have you turned the Msp off by accident. Button on the centre consol one row up from the left side window switch. If its not that try a battery reset before you go any further on replacing parts.104053

Hi Shane,

Sometimes the Maserati Stability Program fails on start up. Usually sorts itself during the drive or goes away with a re-start.
Italian electrics.......
Worse case do a battery reset, which you should do every 6 months anyway to clear these sorts of issues.

Thank you, yes has been like this for a couple of years, had it looked at in Sydney by an independent guy and he suggested a replacement. Just finally getting around to addressing it and hoping the brain's trust would come up with some amazing wisdom. I think it was about $850. back than cheers

Just out of interest is the light on the MSP switch on as well ?

I seem to remember you had to push the button for 2 seconds to turn the MSP off.

Im just a bit cautious of the indy telling you to try a new MSP module rather than it is definately the MSP module.

Its possible that the MSP switch is faulty and stuck in the on position which would turn the MSP off during the start up phase. The MSP light stays on anyway as the car self checks until you start the car a faulty/ stuck MSP switch would just keep the MSP light on and MSP off after starting as in effect its being pressed for the 2 seconds to deactivate it.

HI,

From memory, the modules and communication routes involved are :-

ABS ECU - Front Left Engine Bay.
Yaw Sensor - Center Console.
Steering Angle Sensor - Steering Wheel.
Bridge CAN ECU - Right Hand Footwell.

The MSP switch connects to the Bridge CAN ECU.
The Bridge CAN ECU informs ABS ECU to use MSP or Not.
The ABS ECU uses Data from the Yaw Sensor and Steering Angle Sensor for MSP.
The ABS ECU informs the Bridge CAN ECU that MSP is Active or Not.
The Bridge CAN ECU signals the Instrument Cluster of the MSP Status.

Have you had any work carried out on or around any of these Modules ?
