Multi-car insurance.

Hi All

My multi-car insurance policy is coming up for renewal very soon, and having been with this company for a few years now and as the premium has increased a fair amount, it would be very useful to know what insurance companies other owners use to insure their cars on multi-car policies, to get good recommendations (and perhaps notice of those companies to avoid).

Of course the cheapest is not always the best when it comes to car insurance.

Many thanks in advance, Simon

I found Aviva very competitive last year on a multi car policy with my Ghibli and other car a Renault Zoë.

I've been with Aviva for a few years now and fairy happy...unfortunately they were severely taking to p*ss with this years renewal..
so I went online. I saved nearly 400 quid what with the Maser and the two Fiats.

It depends on how many cars you have and their ages. I have a cross section of moderns and classics on a fleet policy with Zenith.

I've had the same experience. With Admiral for the last 3 years and has been £1012, £745 then £676 until this renewal of £1430. This is for an X3, Alfa GT and my old F355 that became a 4200 Spyder. They could get £200 of the total but appears that it is cheaper to insure all 3 separately. Oddly the biggest difference is for the Alfa, £210 on line but £375 with Admiral. I suppose it is just a quirk of the algorithm in their pricing system as I doubt there is any human input. Just shows it pays to shop around and how much money they must make from those who auto renew every year.

I had both cars with Admiral but their renewal got silly so separately insured last year. Now with Aviva on a multi car.

This is how silly it got.. Fiat 500 Aviva £300 online £160
Old Fiat Punto Aviva £320 online £190
Maser 3200 GT Aviva £560 online £320

And guess who it was with, Aviva!

Same issue here, got renewal for 2 cars from Aviva, not happy with price, checked on confused etc and saved over £200, have been happy with Aviva so went on their web site and saved over £250 from their renewal price so stayed with them. They all seem to try it on with the renewal quotes.

I'm on multi-car with Admiral this year. Admiral were the cheapest deal I could get anyway but they called me and said that if I agreed to insure the other car with them for a month after its insurance runs out next year I could have £100 back. So I'm now paying £100 less and about £13 to insure the Mito for a month next year.

I put buildings, contents and 4 cars together and went with Chubb through a broker called Bond Lovis (who are behind the Maserati club policy sold via Lockton). There policy has a number of benfits such as travel insurance, agreed value, use of own bodyshop etc. I am sure I could get it cheaper but having it all in one place and the knowledge that if I have an issue there won't be any hassle is worth paying a bit extra for.

I like this idea. I'll definitely look at it for when I have to renew the car insurance.

Was with Churchill for years on a multi-car but renewals pricing got silly so ended up with one car on Axa and the other on Admiral. Must say that Axa have a really useful portal for adding cars in which i have used when i have borrowed another car when my wife had an accident and were very fair on the value of the write off.

Never heard of this one before. Next time I will investigate. I have just renewed Household and Contents with AA for £114 then I get £38.00 cashback via Quidco so i thought I had a good deal

I was quoted £1,200 at renewal on a multi car policy, I ended up getting separate policies. One with a specialist for the Lotus with agreed value etc and the BMW with Aviva via the Meerkat, the 2 separate policies came to less than half the multi car quote....AND I got a Meerkat dressed as Batman, which I'm sure you'll all agree tops any deal, ever.

House AND contents insurance for £76? How is that even possible?! I doubt I could insure the contents of my fridge for that after the weekly Tesco's run!

Im with Admiral....Maser, Giulietta 1.4 MA, Mito twin air for around £950... Good i think considering N Ireland is always more expensive than mainland....added breakdown inc continental cover start of May until Jan and it added £61....

Yes it is true! I could not believe it myself.
I did not tell any porkies online, nothing special about the house or its contents, good door and window locks, neighbourhood watch
no claims in last 5 years etc etc.
Yesterday I received a letter from AA saying they can do it for £233
I used the usual compare sites via Martin Lewis and AA came out tops on a few of them, so the I went via Quidco
I have a friend that worked for Churchill and she said they have promotions now and then targeted at a specific group just so the word gets passed

I've just amended my policy taking off the outgoing Fiat 500 & adding the Abarth 595.
I have my multi car policy with Admiral and for a Nissan Navara (£170) plus the Abarth (£194) & GTS (£340), for either Nicola or myself to drive any of the 3 cars, all fully comp with protected no claims, the annual premium comes out at £703.56 which I was very happy with. I've found them a pleasure to deal with too
