Hi.
I bought a 3200 Gt a couple of months ago.
I love the car so far but I have a problem with the car sticking at 1400 rpm then gradually droping down to a lumpy 1000 rpm.each time a take my foot off the accelerator and its driving me crazy.
I have checked the car history and its had a new contactless TB fitted two years ago so I don't think it's that.
I have just ordered a contactless pedal pot hoping that it's the cause of the problem.
Also is it normal for the car to keep reving the engine on cold start? It lasts 5mins then drops to a steady idle of 1000rpm.
Thanks.
Hugh.

Looks great. I'm sure a 3200 expert will be along soon with some advice. Enjoy.

It’s normal for a bit of hunting to go on. I’d fit the new pedal pot and then take a closer look at the TB if it’s not right. Pull off the 2 tubes on the front of the TB and check the operation of the butterfly. Open it right up with your fingers, feel if it’s a bit sticky and check that it returns freely to the closed position. You’ll find a couple of very useful videos on YouTube specifically about checking the 3200 TB, so I’d suggest having a look at these:

Also, have you tried recalibrating the throttle pedal? There’s a simple routine for this with the ignition in MAR position.

This does need doing quite regularly unless you drive Italian style - floor the car every time you drive it!

Didn't have that with mine, although the gearbox could be a bit notchy until it warmed up. Throttle reset is a good starting point.

Hi guys.
Thanks for the tips.
My mechanic checked the throttle body manually and said it was fine, not sticking so that's why I rulied it out.
I have done the usual resets numerous times but to no avail.
Anybody have a how to for removing and fitting a new pedal pot?

Just a quick update to my air leak post.
It seems I was incorrect in saying when I take my foot off the accelerator the engine revs rise to 1400rpm.
What I should have said is when I slow down to stop at traffic lights, every time I press on the brake pedal the revs rise to 1400/1500rpm and stay there for about 10secs.
I was wondering would this have anything to do with the Kieser valve?

Another update.
When I put the car in neutral and coast the revs rise to 1500 rpm a d stay there until I stop.
