'An Evoke is a very nicely engineered car (if you can look beyond its squashed bug appearance!), but, let's face it, it's what Range Rover have introduced to allow more "less wealthy" people own a car with a Range Rover badge on the front. It's the "new-money" / flashy upstart, trying (successfully) to trade on the luxury connotations associated with the Range Rover brand (which has also gone a bit down the bling / flashy route).' Thanks Iain - I'm surprised and flattered that you liked my description so much you copied and pasted it from another thread! Am glad to see that my opening sentence of "No offence to any Evoke owners..." worked....:as007:

You know what they say about presumption.

Ooh - I know this one..... When you assume, you make an a.s.s out of u and me (edited to avoid ***)

Does that mean when I presume, either you or me will be president?

As it clearly doesn't apply to me - I felt no offence, particularly as I don't own an Evoke. I just thought it was ironic regarding the Maserati /Ghibli / Levante axis.
Same can be said of any car / level, they all have a vast range of offerings.
I think generally people buy cars they like, rather than trying to be perceived as something they may or may not be....
This forum in general is a good example of car lovers for the right reasons. Its never a good idea to criticise others car choices apart from Maserati as everyone has different reasons / opinions for their choice.

Nah. It's always good to criticise other's car choices. You just have to not take offence when people do the same about yours.

I've got a cheap Maserati that has 2 cylinders missing and wasn't built in Modena. I happen to like it and what it enables me to do

My point exactly. You chose it because you like it, its a bloody nice car and does what you want it to!
