Does anybody have a pair of old OEM silencers in their garage for measurement purposes? They'll be returned in one piece unharmed.

Saves me taking the ones off my car, and thus rendering my car unroadworthy until they are made.

BTW for those interested, when I removed the Centre Cat it flew through the MOT, the tester said the emissions were no where near the limit.

Update!!
My manufacturer says that he makes these for somebody else (suspect Eurospares!!) and can't do similar for anybody else!

AGAIN! back to the drawing board, they're not the only exhaust manufacturer in the world I'll have a word with the guys who make my MGTF exhausts ... in the far east!

I would have thought that would be a clear fail.............

Not necessarily Greg; these have three CAT's as standard, 1 in each down pipe and another as they meet acting as a centre silencer. They are incredibly clean cars and even without this centre CAT/silencer they still operate within the requirements of the UK MOT regulations...

That centre section also saps around 7bhp.....

Yup the tester said the cats on each downpipe are very efficient and the cars in general are clean. It's well worth whipping that section off :)

I had the same centre section replaced with an x pipe on my 3200 a few months back. My car sailed through the MOT emissions test a few weeks later. I highly recommend this as the engine seems more powerful as a result, and the exhaust sound is nicely enhanced.

anyone know who makes the centre section without the additional cat then?

No one really; Larini sell one but to fit between their CATS and rear sections.

You'll easily be able to get an X Pipe fitted from a custom stainless place for less than £250. That's what I'm having done at some point soon

Any pics of the installation...

Why go X pipe? Just cut the cat out and replace it with two straight pipes! £30 in materials and a few beers for a welding mate!

Centre section is only for noise reduction, not for emissions reduce.
