This week's Auto Express states that the Alfieri has been pushed back to 2021 to allow Maserati to launch new GTs by 2018...

Exciting times ahead - hope they really up the power to circa 500BHP on these.

Wonder what happens to current GT values now....

That is exciting....unless you wanted an Alfieri that is.... With you on power....They need 500 to be competitive.

The Aflieri concept is absolutely gorgeous however i think it will be toned down a lot for the production run...Maserati could really be in the money if they can create a GTS to have the technology and engineering to compete with the CGT and the DB11. Without the parts bin of Ferrari they have their work cut out on the engine front.

Even though Ferrari have left the FCA group, they still have an engine sharing agreement so we'll still see Ferrari derived engines in Maserati's and Alfa's going forward.

I have just seen the Alfieri. Do you guys really like it? All stubby, and that blue stuff everywhere? Maybe I am looking at the wrong thing, but it is not to my taste... Sorry to hijack the thread!

Don't worry too much. It won't look like that *if* they ever make it a production car....

Auto express as you can see has no reference to 2021. So we will see a new GT and the Alfieri next year :D

Oversight if no V8!

Let's not hold our breath on a 2017 launch for the Alfieri!
I agree.

It would surely have been seen testing, even if disguised, a lot if it was to launch next year.

I'd say the same about the GT tbh.

I really hope Maserati aren't taking lessons from ex-Lotus Bahar!

V8 would be fantastic, but it would cannibalise Ferrari California sales.

It'll be V6 to fit in with the pattern of having to buy the larger car to get the V8. I would have thought that by then the current V6 will be too long in the tooth and Maserati will have a development of the new Alfa V6 available so expect 500 bhp.

i think the current GT's have already taken the bulk of their depreciation. In a few years I suspect nearly all exotics and semi-exotics will have at least partial electric power in order to compete.

I actually think by 2020 or so the demand for any NA, well styled cars with beautiful exhaust notes will be strong. I don't think these GT's will increase in value significantly as too many were built, but I do believe they will hold their value better than they are now.
