Hi,

Just thought I'd introduce myself.

Yesterday I picked up a MY13 Granturismo Sport MC Auto Shift from Richard Grace. I think he's fairly well known on here but I came across him purely by chance from the car he had advertised and seems I dropped lucky as he made the whole process very easy and stress free and you can see his passion for the marque and the quality of the cars he sells.

The car might be known on here and is Nero Carbino with yellow stitching and calipers with the carbon pack, comfort pack and flat bottomed carbon steering wheel (which I love!). I've been driving round with the windows down just to soak up the amazing sound and although the power delivery is very different to the R35 GTR I had before I find you can get a lot more from the car without going at speeds that would land you in jail. I've not had chance to test it out properly yet but I'm very impressed so far and it's better than I'd hoped it would be.

Anyway, I'll get some pics up when I have some decent ones but in the meantime will scour the forum for info. I've been on the GTR forum for a few years and found the resources and information invaluable and at first glance this forum looks to be a similar community.

Thanks

Hazza

Great car mate, the best of both worlds with the speed of MC shift but without the clutch costs!!!

Welcome and enjoy!

Congratulations & welcome along, it sounds like you are going to have a great time with this car. And if it's one of the best that Richard has driven, it must be fantastic

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

Here's a few pics, it's not looking quite so clean now unfortunately. It'll give me something to do at the weekend though !!

Great looking car, and the contrast stitching etc looks very smart. I am sure you are aware, but black needs great care when washing to avoid as best you can the inevitable swirl marks.
By the way do they do it with a diesel? ;)

Considering buying a Maserati

Hi there:

Can anyone help with some advice.
I have been saving for a car for a while, and having compromised in the past (BMW 330D conv) - I want one I really love this time...

Problem being 1) I have a young child (16 months) and 2) It would have to be an every day car.

I would love a maserati.
I have looked at the Ghiblis (hopefully that is not sacrilege on this forum!!) and although the Diesel one would be too much of a compromise - the V6 one is ok and very practical.
I am also considering a 2008 GT - Love how they look and the sound etc

Could anyone let me know what the GT is like to look after as an every day car? Is it usable or is petrol/ servicing a nightmare. I am also worried about the Sat nav unit as I am very dependent on it.

Is the Ghibli too much of a compromise?

Thoughts v much appreciated - big decision ahead!

Think you should start a new thread!

As an everyday car the GT is fine. Just be aware of the fuel consumption of you are concerned about these sort of things.

It is quite a large car though and can be a bit troublesome to park, but if you are using it daily you soon get used to it.

The sat nav is pants. I would use a tomtom or your mobile phone. In fact my phone is so good I never use the built in sat nav on any car regardless.

You only need to service it once every 2 years or 12k miles which ever is sooner.

However if you have a kid perhaps you might want the convenience of a 4 door. Depends how flexible you are with these things.

Welcome. Love the yellow stitching.

Agreed, it's lovely.

Hello, Hazza, welcome. And well done on making the move from a GTR, as well as on stumbling across Dicky. A stroke of good luck! I'm glad you're enjoying the GTS. Great spec, too.
