March 1 for Amazon.com i.e. stock in the USA. Release date in US was always shown as later (see post#3 above) - it has to get there by slow canoe from Italy. In the UK from Amazon.co.uk already - but they have put the price up. Pre-release special price for those of us who were lucky enough to order early maybe. Mind you it looks like a £50 book if that's any consolation. Don't go for the used option on Amazon.co.uk though - take a look at the price (the insanity of automatic pricing algorithms which drive a lot of those offers on Amazon...)

It's software, a trading program. I imagine the sellers who use them pick forthcoming books they think will be of interest to collectors and stick an automated bot on it; then if someone bites later (e.g. by searching for the book as Used and ending up just with the used prices showing) they go and buy one from another source and sell it on at the inflated price. I'm not sure how they work in detail but they are a function of availability and data from other places, and aware of the other prices on Amazon so either undercut or outbid depending on if they want to get the trade and if they can get the book or one comes in, etc. In the early days after publication like this they are still getting data so the price will be way out like this one but it will stabilise to something more sensible later. Except of course multiple sellers can do this, and so the bots can get into automated looping bidding wars with each other - there was one on a while back which was generating some absurd prices (like a million pounds) before someone realised and cut it. Moral is always look on other sites before you buy a book that has a high used price. Like abebooks, which is owned by oh...Amazon....

Hmmm, scanner and Mavericks don't seem to want to talk to each other - then again it's a 10 year old scanner so maybe I need to buy a new one.

It's a pictures of QP's "lined up ready to conquer the world". In Piazza Grande, Modena.

I also like the idea of the windscreen stickers, maybe we should get something similar for SMer's going on the trip.

Oh that rocks. I suspect we won't get anywhere near there, though....

I was looking at the possibility of stickers, in fact I mocked up an image to be potentially stuck on the door.

Something in the Mille Milligia vein, but with SM and driver / co-driver names. I'll see if I can dig it out and repost for comments now we're getting a bit closer.

We need to be a little bit careful that the insurance companies don't suddenly regard this as some kind of rally and invalidate any claims....

Windscreen stickers may well be a safer option.

That's about what I thought...Doris will have a full Brazilian and a new nose before heading out to a do like this, so I'm sure she won't want anything hiding her glory!
